Как и у других неличных форм глагола (герундия, причастия), время, выраженное инфинитивом, имеет относительное значение

Неличные формы глагола выражают действие без указания лица и числа и поэтому могут выполнять в предложении функцию сказуемого

Неличные формы глагола сочетают свои глагольные свойства со свойствами других частей и выполняют в предложении синтаксические функции этих частей речи

Отрицательная частица not ставится перед инфинитивом

Подобно личным формам глагола, неличные формы глагола могут выражать залог активный или пассивный

Частица to перед инфинитивом всегда опускается
